Objects: Two globular clusters and a sprinkle of background galaxies.
Constellation: Coma Berenices.
Coordinates of field center: 22h 2m +58° 55'
Notes:
as clusters go this is a rather interesting field that I wanted to image for
years. I did that during a clear spell around a full moon. Given the subject the
large illumination gradients of the exposures were reasonably easy to handle.
Noise is worth than it should, however, and that is because of the large
contribution to noise of the massive background.
Telescope and camera: ASA 10', f 3.6; SBIG STL 11000.
Exposure: Luminance 18x5'; RB 37x5''; G 37x4'. Almost 10 hrs total, mostly during a bright moon.
Date: 4 nights on 25, 28, 29-04-10 and 17-05-10.
Software used: acquisition, CCDsoft. Calibration; registration and stacking: CCDstack, Iris; processing: PixInsight, Photoshop CS.
