Objects: VdB 149, 150 bright reflection nebulae surrounding stars embedded in the LBN 535 molecular cloud
Constellation: Cepheus
Coordinates of field center: 22h 8m +73° 12'
Notes:
Lousy conditions at the time of imaging (hot and humid and the
Milky way barely visible only at the zenith). Notice the galaxy ugc 11861 on the
right of the frame, nearby the bright star BU 1509. It is a spiral galaxy that
is heavily reddened by the intervening dust: the LEDA data base reports a blue
extinction of almost 1.3 magnitudes.
Telescope and camera: ASA 10', f 3.6; SBIG STL 11000.
Exposure: Luminance 100x8'; R, B 15x10'; G 14x8'. Over 20 hrs total.
Date: 5 nights on 10-09-09, 22, 23, 24, 25-09-09.
Software used: acquisition, CCDsoft. Calibration; registration and stacking: CCDstack, Registar; processing: PixInsight, Photoshop CS.
Processing notes: several bright stars required lots of work to control their haloes. A major effort went into maintaining the correct star and dust colors.
